    Digital desk: According
to sources, a team of Delhi police arrived in Jaipur on Sunday to arrest
Rajasthan minister Dr Mahesh Joshi's son Rohit Joshi in an alleged rape case
based on a FIR lodged in Delhi by a 23-year-old woman on May 8. The crew left
after posting a notice on Joshi's under-construction house in Sen Colony,
Jaipur, requesting that he appear before the Delhi Police by May 18.

    Minister Mahesh
Joshi's official bungalow in Civil Lines, Jaipur, was not visited by the team.

    The woman filed a
police report against the minister's son, accusing him of repeatedly rapping
her. The Delhi police said they alerted the Rajasthan Police after filing a
zero FIR, which may be filed anywhere in the country. Because the claimed
sexual assault occurred in an area under the jurisdiction of Delhi's Sadar
Bazar police station, the Delhi Police have begun the process of converting the
zero FIR to a normal one.

    The case was filed
under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 376 (rape), 328 (causing harm by
poison, etc., with intent to commit an offence), 312 (causing miscarriage), 366
(kidnapping, abducting, or inducing a woman to compel her marriage, etc. ), 377
(unnatural offences), and 506 (criminal intimidation), according to the police.

    "You are hereby
advised that a case has been launched against you at PS Sadar Bazar,
Delhi," reads a notice posted on the wall of Rohit's under-construction
residence under section 90/160 CrPC (police power to seek attendance of witnesses).
You are therefore summoned to come before the undersigned and join the
investigation by May 18 at 1 p.m. at PS Sadar Bazar, accompanied by any
    relevant record or document."

    "I also learned
through the media that Delhi police had arrived in Jaipur." They haven't
gotten in touch with me. I have previously stated that I support truth and
justice. I am a responsible citizen. I will assist the Delhi police in their
investigation if they approach me. When asked about the Delhi police's move,
Mahesh Joshi replied, "The police should investigate and bring the truth
    to light."

    The minister refused
to say whether or not his son Rohit was in Jaipur.

    "Will seek legal
advice," Rohit stated after being summoned to Delhi by Delhi police on May
    18.

    The minister's son, according
to the complainant, raped her on multiple times between January 8 and April 17
of this year and promised to marry her.

    According to the
complainant, the woman and the minister's son became friends on Facebook last
year. They first met in Jaipur, then on January 8, 2021, he allegedly invited
    her to Sawai Madhopur.

The woman claimed she was given a laced drink during their
initial meeting, and Rohit Joshi threatened her the next morning by presenting
explicit images and videos. The minister's son later travelled to Delhi to
visit her and forced himself upon her, according to the accusation.

"Rohit forced me to stay in a hotel where he registered
our names as husband and wife. He then vowed to marry me...but then he became
inebriated and began abusing me... He would beat me up and film me in filthy
ways. The woman claimed that he threatened to upload them and make them viral.
