    Delhi: Rickshaw puller killed for not sharing chapati, one arrested
    The accused identified as Firoz Khan, a ragpicker, was arrested from a park in Karol Bagh.

    Digital Desk: A rickshaw puller was killed for allegedly refusing to share a chapati in the Karol Bagh area of Delhi. The accused has been taken into custody.

    The police informed that the deceased was identified as Munna and the accused, identified as Firoz Khan, a ragpicker, was arrested from a park in Karol Bagh.

    Police received a report that a man was unconscious and lying on the road on Tuesday, July 26. He was taken to RML hospital by locals, but there he was declared dead.

    A murder case was subsequently reported in PS Karol Bagh, and an inquiry was initiated.

    An eyewitness, Lakhan, told the police that he was seated with Munna at Vishnu Mandir Marg. Munna started eating meals he had bought for him from a hotel. At the same time, a drunk person came there and asked for food, Munna gave him a chapati.

    Later, the accused again asked for chapati, and this time Munna refused to give it."The accused started shouting and abusing him while in an inebriated state. The accused attacked Munna with a long, sharp knife when the victim resisted him, then fled the scene. The witness chased him for 400–500 metres but was unable to catch up with him. Munna was taken by auto-rickshaw to RML Hospital, where a doctor declared him dead, police said.

    Based on the eyewitness's depiction of the accused's looks, the police started searching for him. The team members began physically examining all the workers and suspects who were present in the park and along the road. The thorough scanning was done, and the effort paid off.

    When a squad led by SI Vikram Singh and ASI Jitender arrived at Jajoria Park, they found a suspect sleeping off there. The accused's looks matched those of the suspect.

    The suspect confessed to the crime while being questioned. Additionally, CCTV footage from the crime scene was collected. Police then arrested the suspect and recovered the knife that was used in the crime on his instruction.
