Sakshi Dhoni raises concern over "Power Crisis" in Jharkhand

Digital Desk: Sakshi Dhoni, the wife of former India and Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, has questioned the state administration over the state's electricity issue. Sakshi posted on Twitter on Monday (April 25): "As a taxpayer of Jharkhand just want to know why is there a power crisis in Jharkhand since so many years? We are doing our part by consciously making sure we save energy!"

Sakshi's remark comes amid rumours of coal shortages at the country's power facilities. There is also a heatwave in the state, with temperatures in most sections of the state above 40 degrees Celsius. A heatwave is expected to last till April 28 in Girdhi, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Ranchi, Bokaro, Koderma, Palamu, Garhwa, and Chatra. Meanwhile, Union Power Minister RK Singh met with Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Monday to explore steps to improve the efficiency of coal delivery to power plants.

Sakshi asked all stakeholders at the federal and state levels to collaborate for uninterrupted electricity supply, according to a statement from the Ministry of Power. The minister advised power generation companies to own freight rakes under the Ministry of Railways' programme to deal with logistical difficulties in coal delivery. Representatives from Coal and Power PSUs, as well as the states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra, virtually joined the conference.

Meanwhile, Punjab Kings head coach Anil Kumble and captain Mayank Agarwal met with MS Dhoni following PBKS' fourth win in the current Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 in Mumbai on Monday at the Wankhede Stadium. The Punjab Kings (PBKS) won by 11 runs against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

Following the game, both Mayank and Kumble were seen on camera conversing with their old teammate Dhoni. The CSK hitter was then spotted conversing with Shikhar Dhawan, who blazed with the bat and made an unbeaten 88 (59) in his 200th IPL game before PBKS claimed an 11-run victory in yet another last-over finish.

In terms of the game, CSK lost Robin Uthappa's wicket early in the chase as the opener was caught inside the circle off Sandeep Sharma's bowling.
