Agra : At least 29 people were killed in a sensational bus accident after the bus skidded of the road and fell 50 feet into a large drain. The Bus was travelling on the six-lane Yamuna Expressway when it rammed into the side railings and fell of the bridge down into the drain.
The state run bus was heading towards Delhi from Lucknow via Agra when the accident happened. There were total 46 people inside the bus at the time of the accident.
As per reports of the witnesses the bus was speeding and the driver may have dozed off due to which the bus rammed against the side railings of the road and fell of the bridge down into the drain.
A video was released which showed local boys pulling out bodies from the twisted metal parts of the white bus, whose roof had been ripped off in the middle by the force of the impact after it smashed the safety railing and fell on the black waters of the large drain.
The injured have been sent to the hospital for treatment as said by the district magistrate. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has demanded an immediate probe in the incident and have promised all possible help to the injured and the families of those killed in the accident.
