Shraddha Walkar's 2020 letter to cops goes viral: says, "he threatens to cut me into pieces"
When he beat her at the apartment they shared, she filed a police report and claimed that his family was aware of what had happened...

Digital Desk: Following police reports, Shraddha Walkar, who was allegedly murdered by her partner Aaftab Poonawala and had her body dismembered and thrown in a Delhi jungle, had expressed similar fears to the police two years prior in a complaint at Tilunj in their hometown of Vasai, Maharashtra.

After he assaulted her in the apartment they shared, she complained to the police and claimed that the accused family was aware of his aggressive tendencies, according to sources in the Delhi police.

After speaking with his parents, according to the local police, Shraddha subsequently provided another written statement stating that "we no longer have any dispute," and she requested that no further action be taken. Both Karan, a co-worker she had told about the attack, and Aaftab's parents are in Delhi to take statements.

The complaint from November 23, 2020, is related to what she told Karan over WhatsApp at about the same time when she also sent him a picture of her wounded face. A week later, she had also been checked into a hospital for "internal injuries."

"He has threatened to kill me, tear me into pieces, and toss me away ever since he attempted to suffocate me today. He has been assaulting me for six months, but I haven't had the guts to call the police because he keeps threatening to kill me "the letter claims.

The 2020 complaint claims he had been abusing her and "blackmailing" her "for six months" with threats of murder, but the couple, who had met on a dating app and started dating around 2019, apparently did not split up. They both worked for contact centres and relocated to Delhi in May of this year.

Shraddha's parents cut off communication with her because they disapproved of the relationship between Hindus and Muslims. The horrific murder, which took place days after they moved into a Mehrauli apartment in Delhi in May, was only discovered in the last month after her father reported it to the police after learning that she hadn't been in touch with him or her friends for months.
