    13 died as bus falls into river in MP, 15 rescued

    Digital Desk: As many as thirteen people have died after a bus fell into the Narmada River in Madhya Pradesh on Monday. Notably, 15 have been rescued.


    The bus, which was travelling from Indore to Pune, broke the railing off a bridge in the Khalghat neighbourhood of Madhya Pradesh's Dhar district and went off a slick road before plunging into a river.


    Meanwhile, talking about the incident, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said in a tweet, "The district administration team is present at the accident site. The bus has been removed. I am in constant touch with Khargone, Dhar district administration. Instructions have been given to make arrangements for proper treatment of the injured. "


    It is to be noted that there were around 40 passengers were present in the bus when the incident occurred.


    The officials said that the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) had been deployed immediately to the area.
    According to officials, the bus has been recovered despite the location experiencing tremendous rain.


    Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra said brake or steering failure may have caused the collision, even if the cause is still unknown.
