    Three LeT terrorists are trapped after an encounter breaks out in J&K's Budgam district

    Three terrorists from the LeT (TRF), including the famously known Lateef Rather, are being held hostage in an ongoing shootout in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district.


    Digital Desk: Three LeT (TRF) terrorists, including the renowned Lateef Rather, are currently being held captive in an ongoing encounter that started in the Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir early on Wednesday.


    "Three LeT(TRF) terrorists, including terrorist Lateef Rather, were caught up in the ongoing conflict. Rather is connected to multiple murders of civilians, including those of Rahul and Amreen Bhat," Vijay Kumar, ADGP Kashmir, said

    The encounter was announced by Kashmir Zone police on Twitter with the following statement: "The #Encounter has begun in Budgam's Waterhail neighborhood. The police and security personnel are at work. More information will come later. "


    Rahul Bhat, a Kashmiri Pandit, and employee of the Jammu and Kashmir revenue department, was shot and killed in his office on May 12 by terrorists. 


    Following the incident, members of the Kashmiri Pandit community took to the streets to demand justice. Later, two terrorists involved in the Rahul Bhat attack were killed in an encounter.


    On May 26, unidentified terrorists assassinated Kashmiri TV actor Amreen Bhat in Budgam's Chadoora area.
