    Two terrorists were killed in separate encounters in J&K's Kulgam and Pulwama
    An army official said that a soldier was also injured in the gunfight. However, the official informed him that he was evacuated to the Army's 92nd base hospital here, where his condition is stable.

     In Kulgam, a terrorist identified as
    Rasiq Ahmed Ganie, a resident of Shouch Kulgam of proscribed terror outfit
    Hizbul Mujahideen, was killed, and his body was recovered from the site of the
    encounter.

    Two terrorists were eliminated in two
    separate encounters with security forces in Kulgam and Pulwama districts of
    Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, police said.

    Acting on specific information
    regarding the presence of a terrorist in the village of Khandipora in the
    Kulgam area, a cordon and search operation was launched by the security forces
    there. A police spokesman said during the search operation, as the search party
    approached the suspected spot, he added that the hiding terrorist fired
    indiscriminately upon the forces, effectively retaliating, leading to an
    encounter.

    However, the spokesman said that to
    evacuate the civilians trapped around the encounter site, the forces ensured
    the evacuation of all civilians to safer places.

    In the ensuing encounter, a
    categorized terrorist identified as Rasiq Ahmed Ganie, a resident of Shouch
    Kulgam of proscribed terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen, was killed, and his body
    was retrieved from the site of the encounter, he said.

    An army official said that a soldier
    was also injured in the gunfight. However, the official informed him that he
    was evacuated to the Army's 92nd base hospital here, where his condition is
    stable.

    As per police records, the killed
    terrorist was involved in several terror crime cases, including attacks on
    police and security forces and civilian atrocities, the police spokesman said.

    Incriminating materials, including
    arms and ammunition, a.303 rifles along with 23 rounds, a pistol along with 31
    rounds, a hand grenade, etc., were recovered from the site of the encounter.
    The spokesman said that all recovered materials had been taken into case
    records for further investigation.

    Meantime, another terrorist was killed
    in an encounter that broke out in the Pulwama district of south Kashmir later
    in the day. The spokesman said the gunfight broke out in the district's Drabgam
    area.
