Digital Desk: The state government sealed five resorts in Nainital
district on Saturday, amid widespread outrage over the murder of a 19-year-old
receptionist at a resort owned by the son of a now-expelled BJP leader in
Uttarakhand's Rishikesh.
According to the Uttarakhand government, five resorts in the Dhanachuli
area of Nainital district have been sealed on the orders of chief minister
Pushkar Singh Dhami. The district administration checked various homestays and
resorts and discovered that five resorts were not following the rules.
The chief minister has also directed all district
magistrates to inspect all hotels and resorts in their respective areas and
take appropriate action if violations of the established standards are
discovered.
