Digital Desk: The Indian Army, in collaboration with the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), built a 120-foot-long bridge along the Indo-China border in Arunachal Pradesh's Anjaw district.
The bridge at Mithumna was officially opened on Thursday. The inaugural ceremony was also attended by members of the local Mishmi community.
The Chaglohagam circle of Anjaw is one of the border's most remote places.
The only way to get to Chaglohagam is by a 57-kilometre-long arterial route from Hayuliang, which is prone to be closed due to seasonal nullahs and landslides at the 'Tha Nala' near Mithumna.
The necessary permits were obtained for the construction of the Tha Nala bridge, which is prone to overflow due to torrential rains. It has also taken the lives of villagers in the past.
The village elders expressed gratitude to the Indian Army and BRO for constructing the bridge, which has enabled road connectivity between Hayuliang and Chaglohagam.
Officials from the Indian Army, senior BRO officers, and public dignitaries addressed the people and assured them of their full support.
