Congress party held NECCC meeting to strategies MP election agenda
Following the meeting, MPCC President Vincent H. Pala spoke to the media and emphasized the committee's steadfast resolve to give farmers' issues top priority.

Digital Desk: In order to prepare for the impending political challenges, representatives from several northeastern states convened at Queens Hotel Jorabat today for a critical meeting called by the North East Congress Co-Ordination Committee (NECCC). During the meeting, the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) made a proposal to include farmer welfare in the party's manifesto.

Following the meeting, MPCC President Vincent H. Pala spoke to the media and emphasized the committee's steadfast resolve to give farmers' issues top priority. He said that the MPCC is eager to include farmer welfare as a key subject in the party's agenda and that several ideas were made during the session.

Pala stressed the significance of addressing the difficulties farmers encounter and giving them the assistance they require. With regard to the proposed inclusion in the manifesto, he expressed the hope that it would demonstrate the party's dedication to the welfare of agricultural workers in the northeast region.

The topic of ethnic violence in Manipur was also discussed during the meeting. To get a firsthand assessment of the situation, the NECCC team decided to visit Manipur shortly. Members of this delegation will come from several northeastern states, underscoring the committee's dedication to working together to address regional issues.

The University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya (USTM), which was the first intended venue, was not allowed to hold the meeting, and Pala saw this as a personal jab at the Meghalaya government. This denial led to the NECCC Meeting being moved to the Queens Hotel Jorabat.

Pala voiced his dissatisfaction with the decision, claiming that the BJP's political maneuvering was the reason behind the license being denied. He implied that Rahul Gandhi's presence in the area would worry the BJP and accused the National People's Party (NPP)-led government in Meghalaya of being swayed by the BJP leadership in Delhi.
