Digital Desk: Ahead of the Mizoram polls, claiming that the Congress will form the next government in the state, the party's state president Lalsawta has asserted that after coming to power, it will provide jobs for 1 lakh people.

Speaking at a public gathering in his Aizawl West-III constituency on Saturday, Lalsawta declared that the BJP's "ally" MNF had to be expelled from the state and that the BJP needed to be removed from the Center immediately.

"Looking at the reports that we are receiving from different parts of the state, the Congress will certainly come to power with the help of God and the people," he stated.

According to Lalsawta, if the Congress comes to power in the state, one lakh jobs employment will be provided. He mentioned the pledges his party made in the election manifesto and stated that Congress will also grant health insurance coverage of Rs 15 lakhs to each household, provided that they do not have a member who works as a regular government employee.

Polling for the 40-member Mizoram assembly will be held on November 7, and counting of votes will take place on December 3. The MNF does not collaborate with the BJP in Mizoram, although it is a member of the BJP-led North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) in the area and a component of the NDA at the center.
