Hmar showcased Mizoram's economic growth and said that it is an attractive hub for investors to explore their business ventures.
Digital Desk: Minister of State for Labour, Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (LESDE) and Sports & Youth Services, Mizoram Lalnghinglova Hmar invited investors to explore Mizoram's economic potential at the North East Investors Summit held in Chennai on the evening of February 5. The summit was organized by the Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region (DoNER) to promote the economic growth and agricultural potential of the Northeastern states.
Alongside Hmar, the event was attended by DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Mizoram's Special Secretary of Agriculture & Horticulture Pi Ramdinliani, and Director of Commerce & Industries Pi Maria CT Zuali among others.
Addressing the attendees at the event, Hmar showcased Mizoram's economic growth and said that it is an attractive hub for investors to explore their business ventures.
He added that the state's two varieties of ginger- Thingpui and Thinglaidum, and Mizo chili received Geographical Indication (GI) tags. Referring to these products, he invited investors to explore the processing and marketing of the products. He also highlighted Mizoram's rich bamboo resources so that investors come to set up advanced processing units in the state. With India's anticipation to host the 2036 Olympics, Hmar reflected on the Northeast's reputation as a sports talent hub and invited investors to support sports infrastructure and provide training facilities to budding sportspersons.
DoNER Minister Scindia encouraged Tamil Nadu-based investors to explore the region with investments in various sectors. He reiterated the central government's attentiveness to strengthening the Northeast's economy and growth through different policies and developmental initiatives.
