After the announcement, AIADMK employees in Chennai celebrated by bursting crackers...
Digital Desk: The AIADMK officially snapped its ties with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), giving the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) a severe setback ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
After a meeting was conducted on Monday at the party's headquarters in Chennai, a resolution was passed that was formally announced by AIADMK Deputy General Secretary KP Munusamy.
"AIADMK unanimously passed a resolution in the meeting," K P Munusamy stated after reading the resolution. From today, the AIADMK is breaking its ties with the BJP and NDA. For the past year, the BJP's state leadership has been making unnecessary remarks about our cadres, general secretary E.P.S., and former leaders.
Key office holders, district secretaries, and MLAs met earlier today under the direction of General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami.
The major decision comes after months of rumours over the tense relations between the AIADMK and the BJP.
