Meanwhile, Lalhmingthanga Sailo will be the face of the party in the Dampa (ST) constituency, and Lalrinmawia will contest from the Aizawl North-II constituency.

The Congress party's strategic selection of candidates reflects its commitment to fielding a strong and diverse lineup to challenge the incumbent MNF government. These decisions are seen as crucial in the party's efforts to regain political ground in Mizoram.

The timing of this announcement is noteworthy as it coincides with the visit of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to Mizoram. During his two-day visit, Rahul Gandhi is actively campaigning for Congress candidates and rallying support for the party ahead of the elections.
