    Digital Desk: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its list of candidates for the upcoming Mizoram Assembly Election, underscoring the party's unwavering commitment to the electoral process in the region. A total of 12 candidates have been nominated by the BJP to vie for seats in various constituencies across Mizoram.


    The Mizoram Assembly, comprised of 40 seats, is scheduled to go to the polls on November 7, marking a single-phase election, as confirmed by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar. With the current assembly's term, led by Chief Minister Zoramthanga, concluding on December 17, the results of the election will be declared on December 3. The electoral process is set in motion with the issuance of the gazette notification on October 13, and aspiring candidates can file their nominations until October 20. The scrutiny of nominations is slated for October 21, and the final date for the withdrawal of candidatures is October 23.


    Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar has also highlighted that the upcoming elections in Mizoram, alongside Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Telangana, will encompass a significant voter base, with 8.2 crore male and 7.8 crore female voters, including 60.2 lakh first-time voters, poised to participate in the democratic exercise.


    The BJP's candidate lineup, in conjunction with the impending electoral proceedings, sets the stage for a significant political event in Mizoram as citizens eagerly await the opportunity to exercise their voting rights.
