Bhagwant Mann Appoints Raghav Chadha As Chief Of State Advisory Committee

Digital Desk: Raghav Chadha, a Rajya Sabha representative for
the Aam Aadmi Party, has been named by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann as
the head of the state government's advisory committee. According to the Chief
Minister's Office, he would supervise "the design and implementation of
pro-people initiatives of the AAP government in Punjab and advise the
    government on problems of money."

The Chief Minister's Office stated in a statement that Mr.
Chadha is a chartered accountant by trade and has experience working with some
of the largest business firms in the globe. He has also worked as Manish
    Sisodia's financial advisor in Delhi.

According to the statement, "His tireless efforts
contributed to making Delhi a Revenue surplus state and so putting it on the
    trajectory of rapid economic growth."

But the nomination of the Delhi-based leader comes amid claims
that Delhi is remotely controlling the Bhagwant Mann administration.

Sangrur, the Lok Sabha constituency that Mr. Mann resigned when
he became chief minister, was recently lost by the AAP. This not only cost the
party its sole Lok Sabha seat, but it also revealed a precipitous decline in
    popular support for the group.

The Chief Minister tweeted shortly after the results were
revealed: "The people of Sangrur made the right choice. I honestly strive
to further Punjab's prosperity day and night and will continue to do so. I am
your son, and I will do all in my power to make your families' futures
    better."

Today's announcement from the Chief Minister's Office
emphasised that Mr. Chadha is a Punjabi native. Raghav Chadha, who is
originally from Jalandhar but came to Delhi a few decades ago for employment
possibilities, "had remained firmly connected with his roots and
functioned as a catalyst in redesigning Delhi's Punjabi Academy, thus promoting
the Punjabi language and culture in the national capital."

Recently, Mr. Chadha attended Mr. Mann's wedding and
identified himself as the planner. "I've served as the coordinator. After
a long period, the Mann family is celebrating a pleasant event "He said.
