Congress Can Only Compete With BJP, Says Rahul Gandhi

Digital Desk: On Monday, Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi stated that Congress is the only party that can compete with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by leading the battle against them.

He said this while addressing a rally in Rajasthan's Banswara district, where he also accused both BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of creating two Hindustan.

While slamming the government further, Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of destroying the country's economy, which according to him, was ''strengthened'' by the former UPA government.

''The BJP has attacked our economy by carrying out demonetisation, wrongly implementing GST, which destroyed the economy. UPA strengthened the economy, but Narendra Modi caused harm to our economy,'' he added.

Meanwhile, three-four things have come out of Congress's Chintan Shivir in Udaipur. Congress had a similar contemplation camp in 1998, wherein it was decided that the party would walk alone on their own but won't compromise on ideology and would take the cooperation of other parties only when it is very much needed. 

However, the subsequent elections were defeated by Congress. In 2003 a Congress contemplation camp was held in Shimla.

In this, it was decided that the alliance had to be made with as many parties as possible ready to stand with Congress on the issue of communalism. After this, in 2004, Congress again came to power.
