On his 95th birthday, veteran BJP leader LK Advani is visited by PM Modi and Rajnath Singh

    Digital Desk: PM Modi
visited the senior leader's home and spoke with him for about 30 minutes. He
presented the seasoned politician with a bouquet of roses as well.

Lal Krishna Advani was born in 1927 and started his political
career as a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh activist. Advani is credited with
helping to form the Bharatiya Janata Party. In the National Democratic Alliance
administration led by the BJP from 1998 to 2004, he also held the position of
Minister of Home Affairs. He held the position of Leader of the Opposition for
the longest period of time in both the 10th and 14th Lok Sabhas. He was the
BJP's power base in the 1990s and is largely regarded as the founder of
Hindutva politics. He ran for prime minister in 2009 as a BJP candidate.

PM Modi tweeted about his encounter and provided a preview
peek: "visited Advani Ji's home to wish him a happy birthday. His impact
on India's development has been enormous. His vision and intelligence have
earned him admiration all over India. His contribution to creating and bolstering
the BJP is unmatched. I ask for his long life and good health."
