leaders Nawab Malik and Anil Deshmukh on Wednesday requested permission from
the Supreme Court to attend the floor test in Maharashtra on Thursday.

In
Maharashtra, the Shiv Sena and Congress coexist with Malik and Deshmukh's NCP
as the government.

Advocate Sudhanshu S Choudhuri informed a vacationing bench of Justices
Surya Kant and JB Pardiwala that the two MLAs had been arrested and imprisoned
for violations of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

On Thursday, there will be a floor test in the Assembly
for the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maharashtra government, which is dealing with a
political crisis brought on by a revolt by several Shiv Sena MLAs. In a letter
to Assembly secretary Rajendra Bhagwat, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari
requested that a special session be called at 11 am with the sole "agenda
of a trust vote" against the Chief Minister.

After hearing the Thackeray camp's
appeal against the Governor's order to request that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA)
administration demonstrate majority on Thursday, the Supreme Court decided to
take up the case today at 5:30 PM.

Shiv Sena leader Sunil Prabhu's petition contesting the
Governor's order on the floor test will be heard by the SC at 5 o'clock.

A trust vote against the chief
minister will be the only agenda for a special session of the Maharashtra
Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly) that will be called on June 30 (Thursday)
at 11 am, according to Koshyari's letter. The meeting must be concluded by 5 pm
in any case.He declared, "Adequate arrangements shall be made for the live
telecast of the House proceedings."

In the meantime, Shinde, who is in charge of the MLAs in
the rebel camp, asserted that he had the backing of more than two-thirds of the
lawmakers and that they will pass any floor test number.

"Tomorrow, we will arrive in
Mumbai. We have 50 MLAs with us. A two-thirds majority is ours. We have no
concerns with any floor tests. No one can stop us; we shall overcome all
obstacles. The majority counts in democracies, and we have that now "he
added.
