Guwahati: After facing several slams from different organizations and eight hours of interrogation, police arrested the chief convener of Barak Democratic Front, Pradip Dutta Roy, on Saturday.

Roy has asked for support from the West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, alleging that Bengalis in Assam are in crisis.
Roy said media, “Assam CM wants to kill me inside the jail, hence, he has labelled false charges against me. I urge West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee to come here to see the condition of the Bengalis in Assam. We are in danger…the Bengalis in Assam are in danger… please come and help us.”
Roy added, “There was no case against me. They made me sit here for hours. They have also for hours. A fresh case was registered against me, alleging that I am involved in anti-national activities. I appeal the Bengali community to give a reply to this injustice.”
