Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reacts positively after FIR being lodged against him. Sarma states that he will be happy to join any inquiry.
Assam CM also questions why a neutral probe agency is not managing the investigation.
A tweet on Saturday by Assam CM Sarma says he will be very happy to join in any investigation. However, why is the problem not being handed over to a nonpartisan unit, particularly when the event's site is entirely within the legal region of Assam?
A case has been filed against Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and other top officials by the Mizoram Police over the Assam-Mizoram border dispute.
The FIR was filed by the Mizoram police at the Vairengte police station late Monday. It was lodged following a gunfight between the Mizoram and the Assam police forces near the border town.
The case was booked under several charges, including an attempt to murder and illegal conspiracy.
The four police personnel and the two government executives have been asked for questioning on Sunday.
