"Tied up, given electric shocks", says Arunachal teen who stayed under custody of China's PLA
Digital Desk: The Arunachal teen named Miram Taron spent 200 hours under the custody of China's People's Liberation Army (PLA). His incident alleged kidnapping by China made sensations around the nation.

Miram Taron reunited with his family after two weeks after the incident of his missing report. He went missing from the Line of Actual Control with China.

When NTDV interviewed him, the Arunachal teen stated that he thought he would die. He was terrified. Miram had no clue what was happening with him.

Moreover, the Arunachal teen shared that the troops tied him up, he was given electric shocks while in custody. Miram said his hunting partner worked out to flee by pointing a handgun at the Chinese soldiers.

China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) picked up the teen on January 18 from the Upper Siang region. "I knew nothing. I had no understanding if they were taking me back to the Indian domain or if Indians were doing something comparable. I felt they would take me to their land and kill me," Miram stated.

"I was scared but wasn't even capable of weeping out of dread. I was shivering. They said some things and kicked me, then kicked me again two to three times. They gave me electric shocks twice," the 17-year old added.

Miram Taron and his hunting partner Johnny Yaying went hunting near the Line of Actual Control. 27-year-old Yaying was holding a gun and managed to flee, though Miram was hooked up, blindfolded and carried to a Chinese base where he was tied to a wooden post.

Miram further expressed that he was feeling unconscious and terrified. "They were chatting, but I couldn't comprehend their speech, so I simply sat there...my entire body was quivering," he recalled.

The region where the teen was picked up happens to be the same area the Chinese Army entered in 2018 with road construction equipment. They were attempting to construct routes 3-4 km inside India.
