100 EV charging stations to be set up across Assam
This integrated strategy is anticipated to simplify charging procedures and improve EV owners' overall satisfaction...

Digital desk: In a significant development towards promoting electric mobility and adopting green transportation, a proposal to establish Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations throughout Assam has been made by a delegation from Tata Power, one of India's top power corporations. The project supports the goals of the policy's Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME) strategy.

The Chief Minister of Assam directed the Transport Department to carefully review the suggestion and any potential advantages for the expanding EV market in the state as a result of the proposal.

Fast Charging Stations will be installed at key public sites across the State as part of a collaboration between Tata Power and the Government of Assam.

During the project's first phase, ten charging stations are planned to be deployed in Guwahati.

As part of the project, Tata Power will be in charge of installing and maintaining fast chargers, which will be supplemented by charger management software.

This integrated strategy is anticipated to simplify charging procedures and improve EV owners' overall satisfaction.

For a period of five years, Tata Power will be solely responsible for maintaining each of these charging stations.

The Government of Assam and Tata Power will work together to find the best places for these charging stations. They plan to choose and decide on about 100 locations across the State where these EV charging stations will be installed.
