    15 hospitalised in Assam’s Golaghat, suspected food poisoning

    Ten children in the Tinsukia district fell unwell after consuming phenyl in another instance. The accident took place at an Anganwadi centre in Kakopathar, Tinsukia.


    Digital Desk: At least 15 people were admitted to the hospital in a case of food poisoning in the Golaghat district of Assam on Saturday.

    The incident reportedly occurred in Selengi village in the Golaghat district.

    The villagers had come to Deepak Phukan's house for a prayer occasion, and as prasad, they had been given "chira-doi" (flattened rice and curd).

    According to the doctors, consuming the curd is thought to be the cause of the poisoning.

    It should be mentioned that in a related event yesterday in Majuli, Assam, 18 individuals, including three children, were admitted to the hospital with possible food poisoning.

    The attendees of the religious event in the Maharichuk neighbourhood of Garmur complained of stomach aches and vomiting after taking the Prasad.

    All of them were immediately admitted to the Sri Sri Pitambar Dev Goswami District Hospital.
