After 35 APS, ACS and dozen other allied service officers were arrested in the APSC Scam, the Assam Police are now preparing themselves to apprehend and arrest 27 officers from the agriculture Development Department.
Sources stated that the investigation by the police team has now found that Accused APSC Chairman Rakesh Paul are also involved in giving jobs to people in Agriculture Department as well. The investigation team has found that 27 officers belonging to the Agriculture department have been involved in getting the jobs by paying bribes to Paul and his allies.
The source added that these officers were appointed in the year 2015. It was found that these officers were involved in obtaining jobs by unfair means after their answer scripts were examined by the forensic laboratories.
The source informed that during the verification of their answer sheets, it was found that their handwriting and signatures were not matching. It might have been that someone else had written these answers.
Currently, the police team is preparing to apprehend these 27 officials for questioning and if they are found to have any links with the cash-for-job scam, they will immediately be arrested.
It may be mentioned that these officials sat in the examination in the year 2014 and were appointed in the year 2015.
