Digital Desk: On Thursday morning, a magnitude 4.6 earthquake was observed near Tezu in Arunachal Pradesh. The earthquake trembled the northeastern state at 5.18 a.m. on May 4th.

On the other side, on Sunday afternoon, February 19, a 3.8-magnitude earthquake was detected in Arunachal Pradesh's western region. The earthquake was recorded at 12:12 p.m. by the National Centre for Seismology.

The epicentre of the earthquake was found near West Kameng, close to the Bhutanese border, at a depth of 10 kilometres. Earthquakes have been occuring frequently in northeast India since the beginning of the year.

There were at least 30 moderate and minor tremors in the northeastern section of the country between January 1 and March 14, 2023. Because of the several earthquakes that have shook the area in less than two months, many people are fearful of the worse.

The first tremors were felt in the area on January 1, 2023. A 3.2 magnitude earthquake rocked Assam's West Karbi Anglong hill district.

Assam had the most earthquakes last month, with five, followed by Meghalaya and Manipur, each with four. Two earthquakes struck Arunachal Pradesh and one struck Mizoram in the second month of 2023.
