Digital Desk: The Special Vigilance Cell (SVC) of the Chief Minister (CM) arrested tainted ACS officer Sukanya Bora again on Thursday in relation to the Assam MPLAD scam, reports stated.

According to reports, the CM's SVC appealed to the court for permission on Wednesday to arrest Sukanya Bora.

More sources state that the Special Vigilance Cell has been permitted by the court to question the contaminated officer while she is being held captive in the jail.

According to the sources, Bora was placed under judicial custody for another 14 days today.

Sukanya Borah has been charged with accumulating properties in the names of family members and relatives that are out of proportion to her income. The evidence stated that the tainted officer's fortune increased by about 800 percent throughout her eight years of service.

Notably, Sukanya Borah was placed on suspension in March 2023 due to alleged irregularities in the execution of projects financed by the MPLAD (Members of Parliament Local Area Development) fund. The Gauhati High Court denied Borah's application for anticipatory bail in this matter in May.

The corrupted officer was placed under three days of custody after being taken into custody by the CM's SVC on January 18, 2024, in relation to the case. On February 9, Bora's bail petition was denied by a special judge's court.
