    Digital Desk: Ambubachi Mela's prep on high buzz, the Guwahati Traffic Police on Tuesday announced restrictions to be obeyed during Ambubachi, which would take place from June 22 to June 26, 2023.


    According to an official statement issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Guwahati, "to ensure the safety of the public, particularly vulnerable road users such as children and students. "To accommodate women, senior citizens, and differently-abled people on the road, as well as emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire tenders, the following vehicle movement restrictions will be imposed during the Ambubachi Mela, 2023, which will be held from June 22 to June 26, 2023."


    According to the official, no vehicles will be enabled to approach from the Kamakhya foothill towards Kamakhya Temple from June 22 to 26, except for the ferry car, vehicles linked with critical services, and a few vehicles of Kamakhya Temple and residents authorised by the District Administration.

    "From June 22 to June 26, no goods carrying heavy, medium, or small commercial vehicles shall be permitted to operate on DG Road or MG Road." However, three-wheeled commercial goods-carrying trucks will be permitted to operate only from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m.," an official stated.


    "No inter-district or long-distance buses (including ASTC buses) shall be permitted to operate on DG Road, MG Road, or A.T Road from June 22 to June 26," the official stated.


    The vehicles travelling from Maligaon to Kamakhya Gate will be dropping off the devotees near Kamakhya Gate and then proceed to Bharalumukh, where the vehicles will park at Sonaram Field.


    Meanwhile, vehicles travelling from Bharalumukh to Kamakhya gate would drop off devotees near Kamakhya gate before continuing to Adabari and parking at Boripara Field or Adabari Bus Stand, according to an official.


    No vehicles shall be permitted to travel on the freshly constructed road between Pandu Temple Ghat and Kamakhya Trinath Temple.
