    Assam: Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh interrogated by IB, Punjab police in Dibrugarh jail
    Amritpal was brought to the Dibrugarh jail on April 23 after being apprehended by Punjab police in the state's Moga district.

    Digital Desk: Pro-Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh was questioned by a team from the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Punjab police on Tuesday in the upper Assam Dibrugarh Central jail. Early in the morning, IB and Punjab police began their combined interrogation.

    According to a source, "The joint team interrogated Amritpal Singh regarding the fund and his connections with other foreign agencies and the Pakistani spy agency ISI."

    'Waris Punjab De' chief is being grilled today by the Punjab police team that has travelled from Punjab and is staying in Dibrugarh, according to sources. The IB team has arrived from New Delhi to examine Amritpal Singh.

    According to additional sources, a team from RAW and NIA is likely to travel to Dibrugarh for the questioning.

    Amritpal Singh was kept in isolation at the central jail in Dibrugarh.

    Amritpal was brought to the Dibrugarh jail on April 23 after being apprehended by Punjab police in the state's Moga district.

    Since March 19, nine further Waris Punjab De members had been detained in the Dibrugarh jail.

    Amritpal was reportedly held in a separate cell with foolproof security, according to sources.

    Amritpal Singh, a militant Sikh preacher, has been charged with violating the National Security Act (NSA), which could be cited here.

    According to a source, "the detainees' family members will arrive in Dibrugarh on Thursday, April 27) to meet them in Dibrugarh jail."

    The nine Amritpal Singh associates, who are also imprisoned in Assam's Dibrugarh jail, have also been booked under NSA.

    Daljeet Singh Kalsi, Papalpreet Singh, Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal, Varinder Singh Johal, Gurmeet Singh Bukkanwala, Harjit Singh, Bhagwant Singh, Basant Singh, and Gurinderpal Singh Aujla are the nine detainees who are being held in the Dibrugarh Central Jail as a result of the National Security Act (NSA).
