Digital Desk: The Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) has raised the state's per unit electricity rates once again.

The APDCL has decided to levy an additional 30 paisa per unit fee for all power consumers beginning in November 2022.

In this regard, the APDCL issued guidelines to customers on December 9.

According to reports, the APDCL declared on November 25 this year that it would levy a Fuel and Power Purchase Price Adjustment (FPPPA) charge of 79 paise per unit on all categories of consumers' power bills for the months of November, December 2022, and January 2023.

However, the EPPPA charge was withdrawn by the power distribution company on November 26, 2022. On December 9, APDCL imposed FPPPA at 30 paise per unit and issued a notice to that effect.

However, the consumers were unaware of the APDCL reversal on FPPPA. It came to the levy after receiving the November electricity bill in December 2022.

The APDCL admitted in September that there were disparities in customers' monthly electricity rates, claiming that small abnormalities had existed for some time but had become apparent this time. Customers were further advised by the power distribution company to come forward and file complaints if they found errors on their bills.
