    Assam: Ambubachi Mela to kick start from June 22
    The main door of the temple will remain locked for three days and three nights after the Ambubachi Mela's Pravritti on June 22 at 2:30 a.m., according to the priest.

    Digital Desk: The annual Ambubachi Mela in Guwahati will begin on June 22, and the state government has made all needed preparations to ensure its success, according to an announcement issued on Sunday by Assam Tourism Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah.

    "We have made an effort to offer amenities to the worshippers who attend the yearly Ambubachi Mela, in which the state tourism department and other state government departments participate. The Ambubachi Mela for this year will start on June 22," Jayanta Malla Baruah said.

    The Nilachal's doors for darshan will be locked from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for cleaning and other management tasks, according to the Assam Tourism Minister. Worshippers will also not be allowed to access the Nilachal on foot after 9 pm.

    "We have decided that the devotees will not be permitted to enter the Nilachal on foot after 9 pm and it will be closed from 9 pm to 5 am for cleaning and other management work," Baruah added.

    After the temple's door is opened on June 26, there won't be any VIP or VVIP special darshans. The Assam Tourism Minister noted that all preparations have been completed for the Ambubachi Mela.

    The Pravritti for the Ambubachi Mela will be held on June 22, according to Himadri Sarma, a priest at the Kamakhya temple.

    The Nivritti for the Ambubachi Mela is set to take place on June 26. Himadri Sarma noted that all rites and puja will be performed after Nivritti.

    Kamakhya Temple is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths in the nation which is situated atop the Nilachal Hills.
