Digital Desk: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Samsul Hussain, alias Raja, has been detained in Assam's Lakhimpur district following allegations of demanding money in exchange for a government job.
Reports indicate Hussain, serving as the Assam BJP Minority Morcha's state executive, purportedly orchestrated a scheme aiming to extract substantial sums for facilitating Grade III and IV posts within the Assam Government. The alleged scam surfaced through a viral audio clip featuring Hussain negotiating job offers with an aspirant. In the recording, he purportedly demanded Rs 5 lakh for a Grade II post and Rs 3 lakh for a Grade IV post.
In response to the clip's circulation, Lakhimpur BJP MLA Manab Deka promptly ordered a police investigation. Consequently, Hussain was taken into custody by the Lakhimpur Police pending further inquiry into the allegations.
The BJP's swift action underscores a zero-tolerance stance toward corruption within its ranks, signaling a commitment to transparent governance.
