Digital Desk: The Chief Minister's Special Vigilance Cell on Friday submitted the complete charge sheet in the major State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) scam.

The CM Vigilance Cell filed the complete charge sheet of 1,433 pages in a special court after 87 days.

According to the charge sheet, up to 21 people have been named as accused.

The accused in the case committed Rs 105 crores fraud.

In addition to Sewali Devi Sharma, the charge sheet names six additional government officials.

Along with them, another five contractors were among the 10 others named in the charge sheet.

Among the ten others named are journalists and RTI employees.

Meanwhile, the court granted a departmental investigation into the six employees' involvement.

Earlier this month, a special judge's court in Assam denied bail to all six suspects in connection with the Rs 105 crore SCERT scam. The accused, Hunmoni Nath, Bhaskar Hazarika, Manoj Das, David Adhikary, Benin Doley, and Rajesh Kumar Joshi, had applied for bail but were denied by the court.

It should be noted that following the claims made by the principal accused in the SCERT scam, Sewali Devi Sharma, the CM Vigilance Cell questioned numerous journalists and RTI workers on charges of blackmailing Sewali Devi Sharma.

Continuing their probe, the CM vigilance cell was questioning a journalist named Pujamoni Das, and it was found that several lakhs of rupees had been put in her mother's bank account, reports said.

The cell was also questioning a close friend of Rabijit Gogoi, named as Maina Saikia alias Anup Saikia. Gogoi, an RTI employee, had previously been summoned to the vigilance cell office, where proof of him demanding money from Sewali was found from his phone. The cell then took two mobile phones and a news agency identity card from his possessions.
