Digital Desk: According to the state health ministry data, Assam recorded 2,277 fresh Covid-19 infections in a single day. However, on a positive note, the recovery rate is higher than the fresh Covid-19 cases in the state.
The National Health Mission (NHM) bulletin stated that Assam registered 2277 cases were tested positive out of 18,117 tests done on Sunday. The overall positive rate stands at 12.57%.
Even though the recovery rate is high, Kamrup, the hotspot, registered the highest number of positive cases on Sunday. Kamrup Metro recorded 771 new Covid -19 cases.
Throughout the entire day, Assam recorded 13 casualties. Three deaths were registered in Dibrugarh and Tinsukia, including two each in Jorhat and Kamrup Metropolitan, and one each in Karimganj, Kokrajhar, and Sonitpur districts.
With this, the total number of casualties of COVID-19 infected individuals has pushed up to 7,648, including 1,347 with co-morbidities, the NHM displayed.
According to the NHM data, the number of recoveries rate on Sunday has doubled from 2,918 people on Saturday.
In terms of vaccination, Assam administered a total of 4,07,23,252 doses of vaccines so far. This vaccination data includes 2,30,62,364 first doses, 1,75,52,439 second doses and 1,08,449 precaution doses.
