    Assam Covid-19 Update: Records 5,902 new cases, 18 casualties
    Digital Desk: According to state health ministry data, Assam recorded 5920 fresh Covid-19 cases on Monday. This number of positive cases is 2.5 fold higher than the previous day.

    The National Health Mission (NHM) bulletin added that Kamrup Metro recorded 1044 on Monday. Kamrup (M) recorded the highest number of single-day positive cases for being the hotspot of the northeast region.

    The state recorded 18 casualties in a single day on Monday, which is higher than the number of 13 casualties recorded on Sunday.

    However, the daily media bulletin said that the state's positivity rate dropped to 10.44 % as 56,519 samples were tested for COVID-19.

    Assam had registered 2,277 Covid-19 cases and a 12.57 % positivity rate against the testing of 18,117 samples on Sunday.

    The NHM bulletin further stated that 5,625 individuals recovered from the disease during the day. In the state, 6,46,972 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from clinics infected with COVID-19.

    The accumulative number of casualties caused by COVID-19 has moved up to 7,666, including 1,347 with co-morbidities, NHM displayed.

    Presently, Assam has registered 44,075 active coronavirus cases. Among the new cases, 1,044 were identified from Kamrup Metropolitan, 314 in Dibrugarh, 293 in Jorhat, and 267 in Golaghat.

    The prevailing positivity rate in the state stands at 2.53 % against the total testing of 2,76,11,266 samples so far.

    Regarding vaccination drive, the NHM bulletin stated 4,08,35,211 doses of vaccines had been administered thus far in the state.
