    Digital Desk: The headmaster of a lower primary school in Assam's Cachar district was fired on Monday as he came to the school with a machete.

    He was fired from his position as headmaster today by the education department after a video of the incident went viral on social media.

    Radhamadhab Buniyadi School's headmaster for some time, 38-year-old Dhritimedha Das of the Tarapur neighbourhood in Silchar, was there on Saturday morning carrying a machete, according to sources (a broad, heavy knife used as an implement or weapon).

    According to Parvez Neehal Hazari, deputy inspector of schools for the Cachar district, the department has dismissed him from his position as headmaster and has begun departmental proceedings against him.

    "The senior teacher at the school has been handed the responsibility of headmaster. I asked him to come to my office today, " Deputy Inspector of Schools.
