    Meanwhile, seven aides to Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh have been detained following a massive search for Waris de Punjab members by the Punjab Police.

    Digital Desk: On Monday, the bodyguard of Waris de Punjab chief Amritpal Singh was brought to Dibrugarh Central Jail in Assam.

    According to sources, the bodyguard's name is Barinder Singh, and he will be kept at Dibrugarh Central Jail.

    Meanwhile, seven aides to Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh have been detained after the Punjab Police launched a massive search for Waris de Punjab members.

    Earlier, to prevent any kind of breach, security in and around the Dibrugarh jail in Assam, where arrested pro-Khalistan leaders were lodged, was tightened, Biswajit Pegu, constable (DC) of Dibrugarh informed.

    He told reporters that seven people had been arrested under the National Security Act (NSA) and were being held at the central jail in Dibrugarh.

    "Tight security arrangements have been put in place in and around the jail to prevent any untoward incident. There are several layers of security around the cell where Amritpal Singh's aides are being held," he said.

    Harjeet Singh, Amritpal Singh's uncle, was arrested and taken to the Dibrugarh jail.

    Amritpal Singh's associates were also flown to Dibrugarh.

    Over 100 people have been arrested as part of the Punjab police's massive manhunt against the "Waris Punjab De" group.

    While seven of the total arrested are currently being held in Dibrugarh jail, more will likely be brought with one purchased today.

    Dibrugarh central jail in Assam is one of the oldest and most heavily fortified prisons in Northeast India. During the 1990s, the prison housed top militants.

    Amritpal Singh, the leader of the pro-Khalistan outfit "Waris Punjab De," was declared a fugitive by Punjab police and went on the run.
