Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday said that there was a time when there were 200 MBBS seats, today there are 1200 seats in Assam.
Speaking at the Bongshar mini stadium's inauguration and the merit-based student felicitation function at Bongshar in Kamrup Himanta, Biswa Sarma emphasized the vital role optimism plays and the negative effects of pessimism on progress. Sarma emphasized the importance of having a positive mindset, saying that "pessimism is our biggest enemy; negativity is our worst enemy."
"Today, the country is moving towards progress because our Prime Minister is optimistic," declared the Chief Minister, attributing the country's forward trajectory to the Prime Minister's optimism. Sarma continued her discussion of the transformative power of hope with some remarkable advancements in the medical field in Assam. "There was a time when there were 200 MBBS seats in Assam; today, there are 1200," he added.

He made comparisons to other notable individuals and said, "If Einstein had been disappointed, humanity would never have discovered the glories of science. Without Sachin Tendulkar, cricket's greatness would never have been experienced by the public. People would not have seen this new India if Narendra Modi had been disappointed."
The CM proclaimed, "Despair is our enemy; hope is our friend." He encouraged citizens to embrace positivity, underlining its role in driving progress and development.
CM Sarma also expressed in his speech how much he values the significant influence that Jalukbari, his constituency, has had on his life. The Chief Minister expressed his feelings, highlighting the close relationship he has fostered over time.
"Jalukbari has been more than just a constituency to me; it has been an integral part of my life's journey. Today, I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for having had the privilege to listen to the joys and sorrows of every individual in this remarkable constituency," Sarma stated.
Emphasizing his long-lasting relationship with the students, he stated, "Even if some of you are now parents, every student is still and always will be my child. The growth and successes of every student at Jalukbari make me proud personally, just as a child's achievement makes its parents proud."
