Digital Desk: A horrifying incident from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar in Assam has come to light in which a group of boarders brutally assaulted three cooks after they were accused of stealing a phone from one of the students.

Initial reports state that the incident took place on July 26 (Wednesday) at NIT Silchar Hostel No. 9, but it wasn't until a video went viral on social media platforms that people learned about it.

After suffering severe injuries in the incident, one of the victims was sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH).

According to sources, a student who was a boarder at Hostel No. 4 of NIT Silchar had lost his phone. As a result, some mischievous students picked up the hostel cooks Biki Ri, Mona Das, and Rajkumar Dhaushad and took them to Hostel No 9.
