Charaideo: The Assam Police arrested one Wazid Hussein from Assam’s Charaideo for allegedly stealing a heritage luxury watch that belonged to late football legend Diego Maradona. The watch has been recovered by the Assam Police with the help of Dubai Police.
Assam Police coordinated with the Dubai Police through Indian Federal Law enforcement agencies to recover the Hublot watch.

Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet said, “In an act of international cooperation @assampolice has coordinated with @dubaipoliceHQ through Indian federal LEA to recover a heritage @Hublot watch belonging to legendary footballer Late Diego Maradona and arrested one Wazid Hussein. Follow up lawful action is being taken.”
As per reports, Wazid was arrested from his father-in-law's house in Moranhat, Chairaideo, where he was allegedly hiding after stealing the watch.
Wazid had stolen the luxury watch while he was working in a private company in Dubai. He returned to India on 15 August, 2021 and has been moving around the state of Assam, hiding from police.
