Digital Desk: The Assam police on a routine check, keep a vigil upon foreign tourists who visit Assam with medical or tourist visas but engage themselves in anti –India campaigns and activities, resulting in communal disturbances.
According to sources, The Union Ministry of External affairs has axed the tourist visas of an intellectual from Bangladesh who planned to visit Assam in the month of December 2021.
After a report of a Bangladeshi visitor with a medical visa, engaging himself in anti-national activities, the Central Government has decided to call off providing travel and medical visas following a request of the Assam police.
However, the Assam police pushed the visitor back to where he belonged.

Talking to the media ADG (SB) Hiren Nath said, "The Assam Police are keeping watch on violation of visa rules, besides anti-India activities and activities that cause communal disturbances here. We warn the organizers that the police will book them in the appropriate section of law if their guests deliver any anti-India speech or do anything that may disturb communal harmony in the state."
According to sources, Islamic thinker and writer Maulana Jalal Uddin Osmani from Bangladesh got the invitation as the chief guest at the annual function of Fatikgroh Jame Masjid in Barpeta on December 27, 2021.
The intelligence Bureau of Assam in its report suggests the police to keep a strict vigil.
