Additionally, it is found that Dutta made his support for the separatist group more apparent by expressing his wish to join them in the comment section.

Digital Desk: According to reports, a government worker in Assam's Nagaon district was arrested for supporting the United Liberation Front of Assam-Independent (ULFA-I), a banned militant group, on social media.

The arrested person, identified as Dharma Dutta, works for the Nagaon Municipal Board and lives in Uriagaon Village.

According to reports, Dutta was placed under arrest when the Assam Police, who have been stepping up their campaign against ULFA-I sympathizers, saw his social media post.

Additionally, it is discovered that Dutta made his support for the separatist group more apparent by expressing his wish to join them in the comment section.

Another person was detained by police in the Morigaon district after expressing on Facebook that he wanted to join the ULFA-I.

The youth arrested, Biswajit Deka, is from the Balipota area of the Darrang district.

According to additional reports, the arrested people are presently being questioned.

Several ULFA-I linkmen, sympathizers, and supporters were recently taken into custody by Assam police during a significant operation against the terrorist group, which is unusual in the current period.

During a joint operation by Assam Police and Assam Rifles in Tinsukia district on Wednesday, security personnel apprehended two ardent ULFA-I terrorists.

According to the police, two militants from Faneng, which is near the border between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, by the names of Mrigen Asom and Bibek Asom, have been arrested.
In 2011, Major Bibek Asom, also known as Bastab Phukan, became a member of the banned militant group. Today, he was apprehended in Upper Faneng, Lekhapani.

One day earlier, a different young person was arrested due to a Facebook post he made endorsing the terrorist group. Mahidul Islam, also known as Kalu, was the young person who had been arrested.

In Kamrup Rural district on Monday, December 25, police shot and injured another young person who they believed to be a member of ULFA-I.

The incident occurred in the Salmara district of Baihata Chariali, and the young person involved was shot in the leg, rendering him immobile.

The young person was identified as Pranjal Das. But it's unclear how things got out of hand and what happened to have the cops shoot him.
