    Assam: Executive engineer of Dhubri Zilla Parishad suspended on charges of corruption

    Dhubri: In its successful crackdown against officials involved in corruption, the Assam Government led an investigation to unearth irregularities taking place in various government departments of Assam. Monser Ali Mondal, Executive Engineer of Dhubri Zilla Parishad has been suspended on charges of gross irregularities and misappropriation of government funds in the implementation of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005 (MGNREGA) scheme in the Dhubri Vidhan Sabha Constituency, Dhubri, for the fiscal year 2020-2021.





    The state government which is strict against corruption and irregularities on July 19, 2021 launched an investigation on the basis of an allegation of corruption and irregularities in the implementation of the MGNREGA scheme under the Panchayat and Rural Development Department in Dhubri.

    The investigation was conducted by Ditimoni Pegu, ACS, Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam, Panchayat & Rural Development Department.





    After reviewing the investigation report, the Disciplinary Authority has decided to suspend Monser Ali Mondal in accordance with Rule 6(1) of the Assam Services (Discipline & Appeal) Rules, 1964.





    Accordingly, pending drawal of departmental proceedings, the Governor of Assam, Professor Jagdish Mukhi is pleased to suspend Monser Ali Mondal with immediate effect, in accordance with Rule 6(1) of the Assam Services (Discipline & Appeal) Rules, 1964.





    The officer (under suspension) shall not leave the headquarters without the prior permission of the competent authority and shall be permitted to draw subsistence allowance in accordance with the rules upon production of a non-engagement certificate.
