Following Wednesday's weekly cabinet meeting, the Assam government revealed the proposed flyover.
Digital Desk: The new flyover at the Cycle Factory Junction over Guwahati-Garbhanga Road was officially inaugurated on Thursday by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Following Wednesday's weekly cabinet meeting, the Assam government revealed the proposed flyover.
People traveling from Pokhara, Sarusajai, ISBT, Betkuchi, Garchuk, Jalukbari, Lal Ganesh, and Odalbakra to and from the city center will experience less traffic congestion thanks to the overpass.
CM Sarma addressed the crowd during today's foundation stone laying ceremony, announcing that the 2.84 km flyover will have three lanes and cost a total of Rs 374 crores to construct.
CM Sarma stated, " This flyover will stretch from Cycle Factory Junction to Lal Ganesh. After the flyover near Arya College was built, the medical college's construction at the former TB hospital is nearly 70% finished. We anticipate that the medical college will be finished by November 2024 or the first half of 2025. When several significant events are conducted at the Barsapara Stadium, traffic on the route will be less congested thanks to the flyover that will be built from the Cycle Factory Junction to Lal Ganesh."
"RCC drains will be routed on both sides of the 2.84 km long, three-lane flyover. We intend to finish the construction project in less than three years, and the entire cost that will be incurred is Rs 374 crores," he added.
The chief minister of Assam also mentioned in his speech that a total of Rs 3,76,00,000 was used to build kabarsthans and burial sites at various Guwahati locales. A portion of the Guwahati-North Guwahati bridge will open to the public on February 28, according to CM Sarma's announcement.
