Digital Desk: The Chief Minister's Special Vigilance Cell arrested three more people on Friday in connection with the Rs 105 crore-State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) scam in Assam.

Those arrested include RTI activists Manoj Das and Keshav Gogoi, as well as suspended Aam Admi Party (AAP) leader Bidut Kalita.

All of them were arrested today after an extensive interrogation by the CM's Special Vigilance Cell.

Notably, during interrogation, Sewali Devi Sharma, the principal culprit who was earlier arrested for his suspected involvement in the SCERT scam, named these people. Following this, the CM's Special Vigilance Cell summoned several people for questioning and detained several people, including Sewali Devi Sharma's daughter, son-in-law, and others, for their alleged involvement in the scam.

Earlier today, the CM's Special Vigilance Cell raided Keshav Gogoi's Bhetapara residence. The investigators also raided the residence of suspended AAP leader Bidyut Kalita.

It has now come to light that the suspended AAP leader received Rs 8 lakh from the SCERT account.

On Thursday, the CM's Special Vigilance Cell detained Sonmoni Nath, an employee of the District Institution of Information and Training (DIET) Howly in Assam's Barpeta, in connection with the scam.

Meanwhile, the court has sent Sonmoni Nath to judicial custody.
