Digital Desk : A new controversy has erupted between singers Diljit Dosanjh and AP Dhillon. It took centre stage during AP Dhillon's concert in Chandigarh where he accused Diljit of blocking him on Instagram.

In a proud moment for the state of Assam, IPS officer Violet Baruah has been promoted to the rank of Inspector General of Police (IGP). Violet Baruah becomes the first woman police officer to be promoted to the rank of IGP in Assam.
Expressing her feelings on being promoted to the prestigious rank in the police department, Violet Baruah tweeted, “Promoted to the rank of IGP. Feeling blessed to be the first lady IGP in the state of Assam.”

An IPS officer of 2005 batch of Assam-Meghalaya cadre, Violet Baruah has been serving the police department in various places.
Violet Baruah emerged as the first female DIG of Assam Police in February 2019. The IPS officer was also honoured with the President’s Police Medal for distinguished service in January.
In 2020, Violet Baruah was posted as the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in BTAD.
Apart from Violet Baruah, many other top ranked officials of Assam Police have been promoted in a major reshuffle.
IPS officer Anand Prakash Tiwari has been promoted to the rank of IGP. Officer Devraj Upadhayay and Mridulananda Sarma have also been promoted to IGP.
DIG Prasanta Kumar Bhuyan, Dilip Kumar Dey and Nitul Gogoi have also been promoted.
Violet Baruah’s promotion to the rank of IGP and the first lady to be promoted to that rank in Assam, surely adds on a proud belt for all those girls, who always dream big.
