Congress leader Jairam Ramesh questions PM for not visiting violence-hit Manipur
Rahul Gandhi also criticized Prime Minister Modi during the flag-off event for the current state of unrest in the state of Manipur.

Digital Desk: Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for visiting Manipur even once ever since violence engulfed the state in May last year.

In an interview with the media on the fringes of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which was announced today in Manipur, Ramesh questioned why Prime Minister Modi had not yet visited the state. He stated that while the PM would rather not be there, Rahul Gandhi is in Manipur to share the suffering of the people.

"It has already been eight months. Why is the Prime Minister still not here? Why doesn't he end his silence? He did not meet the chief minister of the state, the members of parliament, political parties, or legislators. For the past eight months, why has the Prime Minister been afraid? Why is he not present here? People are meeting Rahul Gandhi here. They are communicating to him about their suffering. It is Rahul Gandhi's second visit to Manipur. He spent three days here the last time he came. People are informing him that he has come here, so why isn't the Prime Minister coming? "Ramesh asked. "

It is noteworthy that Rahul Gandhi and Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge officially kicked off the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra earlier today at Khongjong in the state's Thoubal district.

Rahul Gandhi also criticized Prime Minister Modi during the flag-off event for the current state of unrest in the state of Manipur.

Prior to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Congress has made it clear that the purpose of the yatra is to put an end to the "anyay kaal" (period of injustice) under the Narendra Modi-led administration.

Rahul Gandhi, who will be leading the Yatra for 67 days, intends to engage with a wide range of social groups, including laborers, farmers, Dalits, and tribal people.

Over the course of 67 days, the revolutionary yatra is scheduled to travel 6,713 kilometers by bus and foot, traversing through 110 districts and 100 Lok Sabha constituencies across 15 states. Mumbai is expected to host the march's conclusion on March 20 or 21.
