    Covid-19: India records 152,879 new Covid-19 cases, Assam not left behind

    New Delhi: India recorded 152,879 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours which took the nation’s total infection count to 13.35 million, according to figures released by the Union ministry of health and family welfare on Sunday morning.





    In the second wave India has been reporting a daily rise of more than 100,000 Covid-19 cases across the country in the past few weeks, which has forced several states and union territories, including Maharashtra and Delhi to impose night curfew to prevent mass spread of the deadly disease.





     Meanwhile, to curb the daily increase of the deadly disease Maharashtra government is planning to impose lockdown for fifteen days, report says.





    As of Sunday, the active Covid-19 caseload in the country stood at 1,108,087, which accounts for 7.93% of the total confirmed cases. Fatalities related to the deadly disease are also on the rise with 839 deaths reported in a day.





    On the other hand, the covid-19 caseload in Assam is also increasing in the past few weeks. As of Saturday, 405 people were infected by a coronavirus in the state the report said. In the Kamrup district, a total of 145 people have infected with Covid-19 disease. On Saturday two people died in the state for the deadly disease the report says.
