According to reports, 89.14% of vaccinated people are infected with the virus. People between the age group 20 to 30 and above 60 are the most affected. More than 3000 tests are being conducted at the GMCH every day, and out of these, at least 300 of them are found positive everyday.

As per reports, during the 3rd phase, most affected people have opted for home isolation in the district. However, the government has made arrangements to immediately bring home isolated patients to the hospitals in case of oxygen saturation.

Guwahati has recorded the highest number of positive covid cases because it is the hub for the northeast. The Assam government has already set curbs for limiting the virus. However, the spike in positive cases seems to continue with a great hike. Carelessness by the people is one of the main reasons for the increasing rate of infection in the district.

The Assam government has made it compulsory for the people to wear masks, and measures are underway to provide complete vaccination to every individual of the state.

Moreover, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has lately stated that those who are non-vaccinated will not be allowed to enter any public places such as market areas, shopping malls, eateries etc.
